I have a coffee roaster that gets upwards of 475 degrees. There are a couple shafts, levers, etc that need greasing. Whats a viable solution for grease for this application. There will be dust and chaff, etc.

Does the manufacturer have any recommendations? Always a good starting place.

Nope, just high temp grease. Its just a couple zerk fitting ball bearings and a few slides and a pinion gear. Very basic mechanical devices.

Is it going to touch the food?

If not I would use Sil-glyde. Akin to what the first response suggested re: silicone. Good for that but not food grade, cheap, readily available, and other uses.

There was a thread in the food section six to 10 weeks ago (?) re: grease for a Kitchenaid mixer and attachments. Hunt that if you can as there was a lot of good ideas IIRC.

Why would I need a food grade grease?
