supposedly www.wiring-diagram.com have a $12 wiring diagram laminated? but i can't get an exact link for them. assist please/ also taillights no longer work replaced headlight switch, burned area, possibly wires overheated, need suggestions even for temporary fix. Thoughts?

First thing to check is if the truck has a trailer wiring harness added. If so, crawl under the rear bumper and check the harness from the trailer plug all the way back to the wire connections where it is spliced to your rear light wiring. Check thoroughly for chafed/shorted wires, exposed wire connectors and any other obvious problems. Trailer wiring and the associated wire connections can develop problems with age that can cause all kinds of trouble with the lights. It takes a pretty serious dead short to actually burn up a headlight switch. Also check all lighting fuses in both the interior fuse panel and the fuse panel/power distribution center under the hood.

Drivers side under the hood...by the fuse block and the ABS pump. That's the main harness and a known trouble spot on a Dak.

well, replaced the headlight switch and the headlight switch socket..which had burn / melt marks, checked fuses and big fuses, now headlights work, turn signals, brake lights, NO TAIL LIGHTS, no instrument panel lights, and, its been so long, no radio and no dome light, door buzzer works intermittently. Any fuseable links around that engine fuse box/
BTW bought plug and socket from o'reily, would have saved 50 from rock auto

still looking for suggestions on 1994 dakota wiring. replaced headlight switch, headlight socket, checked fuses under dash, also fuse like fusable links in box next to battery all ok, but NO taillights, intermittent door open buzzer, non working radio and dome light, brake and trn signals ok, instment panel lights failed. thoghts/

As said above, check your trailer pin connector.

Also check behind the stereo; there's dash lighting that goes back there and people like to hack stereo wiring. Dash lighting = park lights.

If there's a quick disconnect for the bed under the frame open that up to cut your wiring in half, replace the park light fuse, and see if that improves things.

no trailer pin connector, never had. stereo completely oem, never modified. know vehicles history almost to beginning, unlikely any change. Thanks.
