The OEM filter that I replaced on the first oil change was made by Purflux.

M1 0W40 is preferred oil in 350 gasser, NOT Formula M as far as I know. Since 350 is DI engine, I would always go with full SAPS oil like M1 0W40 or Castrol 0W40.

The version of M1 Formula M that I used is MB 229.5 approved; it's not the ESP version. I didn't think it was still available, but perhaps it is. I plan to stick with the Castrol Edge 0W40. It's made in Germany and is available from Amazon for a good price.

Thought that is some of their Mid SAPS versions.
Too bad Amazon does not sell 0W30 Castrol cheaper. That is still my number one oil for gassers. It just does not justify price difference.

It was $150 in 2000 then $200 around 2006-2008 then $250 few years ago at Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach, CA.

I bought Mityvac 7201 in 2002-2003 for around $65-70 from Amazon, it paid for itself in 1 oil change and 1 ATF change. It is a free tool since 2005.

Coming from the Porsche world where there are lot of negative views regarding M1, I'm using Castrol 0W-40 in my Benz. Both M1 and Castrol are inexpensive at Walmart.
