buddy of mine has a 2011 Chevy dually with the LML Dmax, he regularly tows a gooseneck horse trailer and when loaded dpwn its around 20,000 lbs. Truck has 64k miles, and we got on the subject of servicing the tranny, t-case, axles, etc. He bought it new and its never been done. We will use Transynd in the Allison, but my question is what about the rear end? It calls for 75W90 from the factory, with the weight he tows, is there any reason to step up to a 75W110 or even a 75W140? Whatever we use itll be Amsoil.

Look on the Amsoil website for his exact vehicle, rear diff. Amsoil SVG is what you want, but I would not vary from what they (or owners manual) suggests.

Use the 75W90 Amsoil, but add a Mag Hytec diff cover which looks like it increases the capacity to 8 quarts from a little over 3 with the factory cover.
