An exceptionally good UOA. Low iron, Wow. Ecoboosts don't usually do that well. Likin' Magnatec already....

Great report, like the results and the fuel % number. I have a faint smell of gas as well but my oil level has remained static so I'm not real concerned about it.

Despite (in spite of) their questionable marketing department, Castrol's chemists make an excellent product.

Thanks.

My oil level has not risen either.
I read somewhere that Ford thinks a 5-7% fuel is ok.
Sounds a little high to me.

Obviously, fuel% at this level is not causing a problem.

You have a nice series of reports KJ!

The thing that jumps out at me is that the Castrol chemical makeup isn't leaching copper in that engine, not like most oils do (note the universal averages). Amsoil is another that produces lower copper readings in uoa.

I think I may try a Castrol product in my NA 3.5 next, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks.

My Wifes 14 Edge has the 3.5. I will use the Magnatec 5/20 in it.
The 5/20 is a full synthetic... I wonder how much difference there is.

I'm using the 5w-20 full synthetic and it is a great oil.
It was as you say under $19 for months but now is up.
If I get another sale I'll buy more. Very happy with the 5w at this point.

KJSmith, hope you will be posting further Magnatec 5w-30 UOA's in the future for your Ecoboost if you're still running it!
