How often do you pop the hood

One time I heard a cat meowing so I pulled over immediately, popped the hood and let him out. Luckily he was cropped over the battery on the opposite of the serpentine belt but still kind of close to the radiator fan. Whew dodged a bullet on that one.

My 21-year old F150 could go six months without me looking under there. I don't drive it much and if something scary were to happen it'd be underneath.

The rest of the fleet goes from biweekly to monthly as I top off windshield juice and make sure there's oil and coolant.

Same thing happened to my dad. Except he thought the noise was a stuck belt. Long story short, it was a cat. The mechanic had a huge mess to clean up. He had to replace all the belts. Cat never did it again.
