Bad move.

MMO does not have the correct oil viscosity nor does it have enough AW additive to protect your engine.

MMO is 99% 0 grade mineral oil with a bunch of solvents and little AW additive.

Remember we're talking a cold engine here. The viscosity cold is probably OK.

How much anti wear do you need to idle it for 10 minutes at a time.

Nobody has any balls around here.

You need as much AW for 5 seconds as you need for 50 minutes.

Some people around here have no common sense.

We can disagree about that. Ten minutes or even an hour or two in the life of an engine is nothing. And what about the film that has already built up.

You didn't refute my statement on viscosity. Does that imply agreement?

Turtlevette - 100% MMO would not be functioning like oil. My engine heats up pretty fast. In 10 minutes, the coolant is at operating temp. The oil temp is sure to follow. I would not do this to my engine and I certainly would not recommend someone else do it to their engine.

You have the balls ? What to debate Molakule ?

You have the sense or (la.k of it) to debate this matter ?

Going to watch this one.

No.

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3442362/1/Laboratory_Analysis_of_MMO

High load high pressure areas in an engine will heat up an already thin fluid and thin it down even further. You'll go from 7. cSt to 2.0 cSt in a few seconds.

Basic physics.

It's not going to 212 in 2 seconds. Scare tactics. There is 600+ Phosphorus per your analysis. I've had the very same idea of filling with mmo to move the old cars around in the winter. Just a few minutes of runtime. People have filled engines with kerosene for a few minutes of cleaning without destroying things.
