I was surprised at the UOA after going from syn-blend to Magnetec.
Really didn't expect to see any measurable difference.
I was wrong... in fact it is a huge drop in iron % wise.
I am using the FL500s if anyone is interested.

Happy with it so far. Next UOA should be in June.

Old thread, i know but,

Twin Turbo Ecoboost and Magnatec 5w30 ($17 - $21)... Who would have thought this was an extended drain oil. Wow.

This being an old thread, I noticed the Magnatec was called a blend. The last 5W30 jug I bought was l labeled synthetic ($17.88 Walmart). The UOA on the referenced oil tells me that it is a 5,000 mile oil.

Back then it was a blend.
Now it is a full syn oil.

I ran magnatec 5w30 full syn to 9500 miles in my cobalt, TBN was at 2.0 and viscosity was perfect. Wear metals were low. Very good, cheap oil. My cobalt has an oil-life monitor that indicated 10% left iirc. Only oil I use in my 2 cars now.
