I have seen lots of wiring harness cables for sale on eBay and other sites. For keeping the power on these type of devices. Wouldn't toggle switching your class 2 serial data link circuit do the same thing in theory ? Any thoughts

Please explain what it is you are trying to do by toggle switching the class 2 circuit.
