How can you throw a ball as hard as you can and have it come back to you, even if it doesn't bounce off anything? There is nothing attached to it, and no one else catches or throws it back to you.

I think Bugs Bunny threw a baseball as hard as he could and it went all the way around the world and came back to him.

Away!

it's humor and conversation...

I too have heard you are to exit vehicle and run towards the direction that the train is coming, of course not on the tracks. On the side and if possible a little farther away. This way you are less at risk of the train/car collision catching up with you and demolishing you from behind.

Makes sense! Have a wonderful day.

Yup. When the train hits the car, there will be debris flying in the general direction of the train's forward path. Some may fly to the sides. It is very unlikely any debris will fly backwards, hence running toward the oncoming train (not on tracks, obviously) should put you in the safest zone.
