Archoil AR9100

I've tried it in 2 gas engines, one a DI 2012 4CYL Equinox and a 500 Fiat Pop. It has in both cases quieted down start up noise.

I know 2 guys with the Ford Diesel stiction issue that this product did help a lot.

Using a good oil has always been my story but sometimes oil is not the answer. It is pricey but when looking at the overall cost of operating a vehicle, I view the cost as minor if the product helps.

Yesterday a new gallon of Archoil AR9100 arrived the next day from Amazon. Price up to $215.11 now. We use it in all gas and diesel engines still for cleaning and low friction. Since it is to double OCI that helps when changes go over.

Since we added Archoil AR9100 last July to the 5.9L Dodge gas engine that was burning a quart of motor oil about every 500 miles it now will get 1500 miles before it is a quart low. It is in a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500.

I do not know why it has stopped using so much motor oil. Maybe the lower rings were stuck or perhaps the pan gasket on the bottom side to the intake manifold is sealing better sucking less motor oil into the intake manifold.

We are still running AR9100 in all of our gas and diesel engines as well as the AR6200 fuel additive.

dino33 after a quick glance it does sound similar to the Archoil AR9300 which is some expensive stuff but does lay down a layer of protection good for 50K miles of oil changes without using more AR9300.

At this point in time I do not have an engine that I know is failing mechanically due to wear but would consider AR9300 if I did.

Thanks for the link.

Gale, I found a fascinating thread on an mg car forum, linked below. It's the actual owner of Certechs Gel company. I'm sure this product is very similiar to Archoil, LM ceratec, and others, so it might be of interest to some....

Wow after reading those links and what the owner of the Certech Gel company posted that's one product I'd never even consider.

I can't comment about Archoil though.

I am with demarpaint on the Certech Gel based on the link.

I do not have a lab to prove or disprove any of the claims about the many products by Archoil.

It is the tests and case studies at the bottom of the above link that impresses me the most when it comes to additives. Usage in a million dollar machine carries more weight with me than in say a $2000 car.

I grew up around machines on the farm. I have some training and on the job experience in tool and die shop and the same in electronics when in the Navy. Later I earned my doctor of optometry degree which helps when reading technical test results.

Most of the remarks about additives are little more than marketing hype. Most additives even when they work do not add "functional" life to most cars or trucks.

Below are some links that get my attention as showing some validity.

http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/general...oil-ar9100.html

I have a hard time calling all these accounts just [censored]. After having read many hours of post by vehicle owners using Archoil additives I sold on the fact that many users are 'sold' on archoil.

We know esters can make good cleaners. The anti-friction part sounds positive. I can seem to hear less rattle in the 1976 265 Massey Ferguson 60 HP Perkins diesel engine using AR9100 and AR6200 but that is not true science.

I am not sure of the net value of AR9100 and AR6200 in our applications but at the age of 65 I do feel the Archoil line of products are in no way harmful to any of our machines after using it over the past couple years. We have engines that do not get started for perhaps a year. If AR9100 helps prevent dry start ups then it is a plus.

If I had equipment that cost millions to purchase I expect I would be a serious Archoil user. Companies that offer products by 55 gallon drums indicates it more than a one person operation rebottling chemicals in my view.
