My father has a Kia Borrego with 109k on it. Clear issues from carbon buildup and sludging. We ordered Kreen to run thru the oil, but I'm wondering how safe it actually is if put in the gas tank. That is nasty stuff, and I don't want a melted fuel filter / disintegrated fuel lines from it.

The dilution is still relatively low in a full tank of fuel.

Pour it in at the gas station and dilute it immediately with gas. Then try to go through the tank quick.

Personally I did not encounter any issues.

I had no problems using it, just follow the directions. They also offer a money back guarantee if you're not happy with the product.

2 cups of kreen in a tank is a very low dilution. We have run it through a ton of different vehicles here and almost always gotten good results.

Try it. If you don't agree they have an ironclad warranty...

No problem, plastic used in fuel systems is unaffected by most common solvents.
For real carbon issues a piston/chamber soak with GM top engine cleaner overnight will work better than anything added in the tank.

The Cadillac N* was notorious or carbon buildup and carbon knock, the GM stuff was the the cure, it works well.
