For this 2009 VW Passat Wagon w/ 2.0 TSI:

Miles 38,000-43,500: PP Ultra Euro 5w40 UOA done
43,500-48,000: Castrol Edge 0w40 Euro No UOA
48,000-53,000: Castrol Edge 0w40 Euro UOA done which is shown here.

Would love to take this to 7,500 miles so it matches my VW 3.6L V6 interval.

I don't see why you couldn't, based on this report.

BTW, this appears to be an older Edge 0w-40 batch (no titanium).

Thanks Pete for the comment. I purchased the Edge 5qt jug at Walmart in summer 2015. In fact, I bought a couple as they were on rollback for $21. Hard to beat that. I'll double check the labeling this evening.

I think I will go to 7,500 miles next time. Any thoughts on the comparison to PP Ultra Euro in the other column. This car seems to like the Castrol.

Not really. A $20 UOA isn't a reliable tool for comparing oils, I'm afraid.

Interesting that there is no titanium. Here is the picture of the bottle I used...
