This 36k run was using Redline MTL. At the time I changed this, I actually refilled the trans with more MTL, but added 1 ounce of Ford Motorcraft XL-3 friction modifier (trying to eliminate the parking lot groan from the LSD...really annoying). This eliminated the noise but made the shift feel in the cold very poor, so I actually re-drained and filled with straight MTL again today. An expensive lesson. I'll live with the LSD noise.

Its good that the LSD additive didnt plate anything.

An acquaintance of mine tried some kind of moly additive in his MT... 3 fluid changes and 10000miles later still didnt shift right.

LSD additive doesn't plate anything.

Of course it didn't. Moly competes with the Friction Modifier in an MTF.
