If you are going to ceramic coat the pipes they have to be new or the coating won't last but a year or so. I had the cats coated too.

I think what i'll do is have the pipe ceramic coated - shop quoted me $60 - they seem good, maybe they'll rough up the exterior before coating so it'll last longer, or do whatever they do so it will last.

Indylan,

Thank you for stating that about dissipating heat!

I wonder why the fins you see on AC motorcycles are not more common on more parts....ie ps pumps, alternators, transmissions, differentials, etc....

I know they can be had for some, but usually it is aftermarket or the heaviest duty rear-end that gets the heatsink.

Maybe they need to retain some heat is all I can figure, that, or it is expensive, counterproductive, or weakens the structure somehow.

Keeping your underbody clean is a big first move.

Second would be to keep the speeds up. Raw dogging around a parking lot all day is kind of wrong, wouldn't ya say?

Have a cool down lap as well as a warm up lap- would be a big second step!

Exactly. Transmission overheating is likely not due to exhaust heat.

I'd use a Turbowerx pump and a Setrab cooler. All of the other gear oil cooler pumps are garbage.
