9011 is not the correct upgrade for 9006. 9011 is a high beam bulb. It's possible to swap a genuine 9012 in place of a 9006 but only if that's in genuine non clouded oem housings, not aftermarket. Adding more lumens to a poor aftermarket housing will just create more glare for everyone since they don't have the correct quality optics to utilize it.

Oops my bad..was sure was 9011 but you're right its 9012. I am using wagner 9012's..about 18$ each on amazon. I havent upgraded my brights..i feel they are good enough.

FYI the Wagner 9012 are known to be the ones that didn't pass Phillips QC and have a slant in the filament alignment usually.

The brightest ones are Vosla +30 HIR 9012 if you know where to order them.

I respectfully disagree. There are numerous examples, even here on BITOG, of demonstrably poor quality with aftermarket headlamps.

Here's one from an MDX forum:

I know there are countless other threads. Cheap, Chinese copies of OEM stuff is rarely better than OEM itself. Less expensive? Absolutely. Better value? I disagree.

I have had the opposite experience.

On my Jeep Grand Cherokee, the factory housings are complete garbage. Mine came with brand new Chrysler units, and the beam pattern and light output were complete trash.

Driving down a street with street parking was crazy. Couldn't see people trying to cross until I was right on top of them.

The aftermarket projector headlamps I got are nowhere near a an Acura projector with ZKW lenses, but are ten times better than stock. Glare is less than factory halogens.

That's one thing I'll never understand about halogen lamps. How do they manage to emit blinding glare, but none of it seems to touch an object in front of the vehicle? I'd think that if it could fry my eyeballs, the brightness should illuminate something.
