I personally would probably use Mobil 1 HM 10w40 or Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 (approved for gasoline engines).

The company will reimburse you if you have a receipt for the oil. I once rented a U-Haul with a Ford 460, and it also said to use 15w40. I had to demand that the local U-haul add automatic transmission fluid because it was low in my rental truck. I just can't stand seeing cars and trucks getting abused, that is why I check them.
Anyway, I think U-Haul really calls for 15w40 because they can use one kind of engine oil in all vehicles. Some of their rental trucks have diesel engines.
