Does anyone have experience with this particular product? I've tried searching for reviews online and tried contacting Peak with my questions, but haven't gotten a response.

It looks like a calcium sulfonate grease which according to the interwebs has inherent EP properties and has the GC-LB rating. But looking at the spec sheet, it lists the Timken OK load at 30 lbs, which looks to be low for an EP grease (especially for calcium sulfonate). According to wikipedia, "A measure of 35 pounds (16 kilograms-force or 155 newtons) or more means that EP additives are present and working well".

The rest of the numbers look to be pretty much in line with most other calcium sulfonate greases, so I'm wondering if that 30 lb number is a mistake.

Here's the link to the specs: http://images.peakauto.com/PEAK_Synthetic Grease_Spec Sheet_lores.pdf
Also, the marine version of this grease seems to have a Timken load of 65 lbs, shown here:

Thanks in advance! (I've learned a ton from lurking on this site for years now)
Pepboys is currently selling them at a very discounted price which is the reason for the interest.

This is definitely a calcium sulfonate based on the fact that the PDS states it is a calcium sulfonate and the SDS lists the components used to manufacture that thickener as ingredients. They refer to the grease as a synthetic grease. However, its base oil is a petroleum oil. The thickener is synthesized but by this standard all soap thickened greases could be referred to as synthetic. The overall specs are typical of that thickener except for the Timken OK Load at 30 lb which was already pointed out.

Thanks for the responses thus far, but I guess I wasn't clear in what I was asking. The literature claims that it is an EP grease, so...

- Is a timken OK load of 30 even possible for a grease to be classified as EP? Timken's site says a value of > 35 indicates that EP additives are present.

- Given that calcium sulfonate has inherent EP properties, is it possible for the timken ok load value to be so low?

I know that the numbers don't indicate that it's anything special, but it is going for $2.30 a tub at the moment.
