The voice of NASCAR passed away tonight. Thankfully we have decades of race broadcasts so we can hear him forever.

That stinks. Spent many a Sunday afternoon with him. He was great and I've never heard anything but effusive praise for him as a person. Legend for folks who've liked racing.

I could tell Barney wasn't doing so well about two yrs ago I think... He didn't sound like himself. Then when they cut his workload down a lot I figured he wasn't up to it as much.
One of the greatest EVER on radio broadcasting a race. He can now share that amazing voice with the angels and Jesus in heaven.
