I lift *the whole side* of my camry by jacking on the unibody rail, the one a foot inboard. I put the jack about a foot rearward of the firewall. This lets me put a jackstand in the proper place, between wheel well and the jack in front.
If you keep at it, the rear will lift too. Cars are stiff enough now you can get away with it.
