Oil filters in a NASCAR engine just have to be rock catchers to stop pieces from a failing part from damaging the rest. The engine is going to run for at most 1000-1500 miles in its whole life, and that on a couple of different fills of oil (assuming the 600-mile Charlotte race, plus practice, plus qualifying), so parts failure and break-in "shavings" are the only real concerns- no need to filter soot and sludge down to 20 microns for thousands of miles, start/stop cycles, etc. Nothing wrong with Wix, but being picked for use in NASCAR is not exactly a ringing endorsement for street use.
