How to post Blackstone Analysis, on a Mac...

Blackstone will send you a PDF (Acrobat Reader format) file.
Save this file to your hard drive.

I used Graphic Converter to convert / save the ".pdf" as a ".png" file.
(Graphic Converter trial version is free, but you have to wait 30 seconds for it to start.)

Now open the".png" file, with "Preview", and remove personal information.
Save again.

Now upload the ".png" to tinypic.com.
Copy the "IMG" code to your post on BITOG...

Anyone want to post the Windows instructions?

or.

Open the .pdf with preview.
On the file menu - export - choose .jpeg as type.

Then upload to the photo sharing website of your choice.

BTW - If you log into your blackstone account and check the box that says "Export without personal data" you can save yourself the work of scrubbing your personal data.

open pdf
apple - shift - 4 to take selected screenshot
upload to website of your choice

no need to use graphic converter, also preview can export as jpg if you want

Also, if you use Preview on MacOS, do BITOG's server's and everyone's download data limits and everyone's browser load time a favour, by creating small files to upload in a post.

I find limiting to 100kB or less works well as far as graphic image quality goes, and it is much smaller than the typical default if you just save.

So, resize to a nice value for others to read (in other words, not cause the browser window to go too wide, making text disappear unless you scroll) and limit size to something between 80 and 100 kB.

Launch Preview, create jpeg from PDF

Go to > Preview: Tools: Adjust Size
In the Dialog Box that appears ...
@ enter 800 [Pixels]
Allow to auto-value based on image dimensions
@ enter 72 [Pixels/Inch]
Insure Checkboxes are selected:
-Scale Proportionally-
-Resample Image-
[OK]

Then:
Preview: File: Export
Rename, if desired, and choose Save location
at: select [JPEG]
Adjust Quality (Least > Best) to generate a File Size value between 80 and 100 kB
[OK]

You will then get a file to upload that is compact and does not force resize the Forum window.
