If he is a troll, he's pretty consistent across two crowds who would have relatively few members in common.

The difference between HF RTV and, say Permatex Ultra Black is the world. If you're going to go through the labor and prep of changing a preformed gasket, use the good stuff for $1 more.

The RTV silicone is one of the products where HF is selling a real brand, not just a house brand product. My local stores carry Pro Seal brand.
