Normal driving conditions in South Louisiana from July-Dec., no towing or spirited driving. Pennzoil Platinum/Fram XG-3506 filter. i purchased a 2012 CrewCab Colorado 2.9L/auto with only 23k miles in July of this year. This test sample at 4,500 miles was just out of curiosity before adding Marvel Mystery Oil, the actual OCI was 5k miles. My truck has the start-up rattle and I’ve read that a full synthetic/MMO combo might help clean the internals and quite down the noise. I have also been adding MMO with every tank up and alternating the fuel grades from 87 to 89 octane, but the sound has stayed constant. I’m now using Pennzoil Gold Blend/XG-3506 filter and literally playing it by ear …
