Anybody else converted a diesel/oil pump to do suction oil changes? There are of course, purpose built electric oil changers out there on the market, but I have a bunch of these HF pumps laying around and converted a few to do suction oil changes after getting fed up with my vacuum units.

In use on a boat here. Pumped 7 cold quarts in 8 minutes. Hot oil would probably have gone a good deal faster.

I have a hydraulic power steering pump from an electric forklift I power with a drill motor, 14 qts in about 4 minutes. I love thinking out of the box.!

Now that's an idea right there. All of my lifts operate on a secondary circuit off the main pump, so no help there, but it's something to keep in mind if I ever have a spare lying around.

How about a refridgerator pump? I understand these are often OK when fridges get junked due to the door seals failing, which can often be fixed but often isn't. Probably fairly low volume, but if one wasn't in a hurry...
