14 Maz3 iGT 3500 miles Castrol Edge + Lubro Moly

Hey all,
First report for this car. Dealer Castrol Edge + 100ml of Lubro Moly additive.
Air filter was changed a few thousand ago, would explain the high Si.

I was getting ready for a trip to decided to change it.Seem like the oil had plenty of life left, lol.

Defiantly overkill.....and a waste of a good quality oil.

I don't know if your still under warranty....but IMO you could have gone easily to 7000 miles....and possibly more.

Filter was filthy, I am under warranty and milage after trip would have been 6000+ , I am on Mazda's schdule 1 , which calls for change every 5k.

I didnt pay for the oil, and I rather have an over maintained car than under maintained, specially when warranty issues come up.

Doing UOA's is one way I am protecting myself in future for warranty issues.

IMO....UOA's are expensive....and not necessary...if you change your oil at reasonable intervals based on your driving habits.
