What percentage is your hwy vs city driving ?

I'd say that it's probably about a 60/40 split city/highway.

I was wondering that myself. I used a clean container to catch the sample, and did it "mid stream" like they said. With the mileage the car has I wouldn't think that there would be any major bearing wear. It runs like a top and doesn't make any noise.

0w30... not the most stout z&p level.
9.31 CST... stay in grade ;-)

I would try a 5w30. Mobil has plenty of synth 5w30's.

And, low insolubles. [censored] good filter but could be restrictive. Try another brand or OE filter.

I got the 0w30 on sale. This go around I used M1 5w30 with the same distance plus filter. I'll send another sample off in a few months when I change the oil again and see how it compares.

+1

I have seen a lot of D16Y8 have over heating issues, and eventual HG failure when they are not looked at properly.

Make sure you re-fresh your coolant as time can be a factor as well, fan relays, radiators, and hoses can be problematic.

But the engine doesn't care about oil, use whatever certified motor oil you want.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on doing the timing belt/water pump at 60k so ill flush the coolant and check the hoses then too.

What? Wouldn't low insolubles mean the filter is doing a good job of filtering?

baller mileage with a 5 speed on hondas.

The 1zzfe mated to a 5 speed gives worse gas mileage then the 4 speed auto.

But Hondas and their manuals seem to give baller gas mileage.
