Hi this is my first post on this forum, Ive just purchased a Pajero 3.2 did 2005 and wanted to know whats the very best engine oil to use (price no an issue) my log book states various viscosity oils depend on atmospheric temps, I live in the United Kingdom.

10w40 & 15w40 & 5w40 seems to be recommended on other forums, but what do you guys suggest?

Engine is turbo charged as well - Temp ranges in the UK from -15c to 30c.

Mileage is 140,000 miles

What does the manual recommend, both with respect to viscosity and specifications? Give your climate, just about any of them would do, assuming they fit within specifications.

Diesel particulate filter? Be very careful to chose an oil that's DPF compatible. If not, take your pick of any of the well known brands, and as Garak said, any of those weights you listed would be fine.

We run them on MSL, Mitsubishi's oil at the dealership, when they get old and nobody cares, just 15W40 HDEO.
