I have two applications here and I'm trying to find suitable fluids:

1) I have a 49cc peace sport scooter that calls for GL3 gear oil. I have no idea what is acceptable here.

2) I have a yamaha 4moto final drive assembly that calls for SAE 80 Hypoid Gear Oil. I would assume this means any Xw80 GL-5 or GL-6 would work, right?

Is it at all possible to use the same fluid for both of these? they use so little that i'd hate to buy separate bottles for each.

Thanks.

I'd use a GL5 75w85 gear oil in both.
Honda/Toyota/Ford/GM/Redline... have it.

75w90 might be a bit thick but could still be used.

thanks. I currently put Mystik 80W-90 in there as a flush since both have been neglected. That fluid seems to thick, though. I would think a lighter fluid for the scooter would make more sense with such little power output and the 4moto actually gets used at 0F temperatures and W90 fluids are just too thick.

I know how to find redline 75W85 GL5 gear oil. Any idea where to find those others?

Also, I assume the GL-5 is safe for the CVT because there are no synchronizers or soft metals to worry about?

I don't think GL-4 would cut it for the hypoid gears in the ATV.
