Anyone have an opinion on the Hankook I*Cept Evo2 W320, preferably from experience?

See: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct...d=16&cs=205

I might buy a set of these for my nephew in Vermont. For a 2003 Subaru Legacy, in 205/55R16. The winter tire deals at DTD for Black Friday are OK but not great. This tire caught my eye as a possible good choice for the money---but I don't know much about them.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don't have any personal experience with the I*Cepts, but as an alternative, the General AltiMAX Arctics for $85 each from Tire Rack will be tough to beat.

The Altimax Arctics are directional tires, which can;t be rotated unless you go somewhere like Walmart that will flip the tires during the free rotations.

Also, the Icept Evos are more of "performance winter" tires, mainly for where it gets cold but not too much snow or ice.

Hankook's Icept iZ and Winter iPikes are more comparable to the Altimax Arctic.

I buy the Hankook Optimo S4 in 225/50/17 98V. They seem to be a good wearing snow flake and rain tire. The V rated sizes are built far better than the lower speed rated S4s.

In 3 weeks new 275/65/20 studded Hankook RW 11s go on the beater pick-up.
