Anyone here an English movie buff? Anyone seen Spectre?

With the way Spectre turned out "Bond 25" could be called, "Carry On Mi6".

Ha-Ha, I'm so clever. Kira

I still can't make it through Skyfall without falling asleep. About the only thing that movie has going for it is Naomie Harris.

My plan is to see Spectre on the day after Thanksgiving. Skyfall was the best Bond film in years, and while I originally wasn't a fan of Daniel Craig (a blond Bond???), I'm really on board with him now. Connery really had the authentic Bond-as-written-by-Fleming aura about him, and so did Timothy Dalton, and now -- in a different way -- so does Craig.

I was done with the Bond movies when Sean Connery left the role...there can be only one Bond and that was Connery...

I saw it and liked Skyfall much better. Both are about the same length, though Skyfall seems longer. But the plot was better in Skyfall. There are several things that are disconnected in Spectre in terms of the storyline. You also really need to watch all of the Daniel Craig "Bond" films prior to seeing Spectre to refresh your memory.

I have seen all of the movies and own all of the books. I think that Daniel Craig brought the "grittiness" back to Bond (especially in Casino Royale) that Fleming intended and overall, I think Craig has done a good job (as have they all in their own way). I am solidly betting that he will not do another and they will start shopping for the next incarnation of Bond soon.

With that said, I like Spectre the least of all the Bond films to date. It felt like they cobbled together quite a few scenes with nearly no continuity and the plot was very weak--though the scenes themselves were good. We will not even talk about the theme song with its over the top falsetto. Christoph Waltz's character could have been so much more evil and cunning, (imagine Col. Landa in Inglourious Basterds on steroids) but he came across as a weak villain.

Perhaps I need to watch it a few more times and it will grow on me...

Daniel Craig ruins it for me...the guy just doesn't have the charm and charisma of either Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan, and watching him makes me think more of Madame Tussauds.

I didn't think much of Skyfall upon my first viewing, however now that ive watched it 3-4 times its grown on me. Casino was Craigs best in my opinion. We (Bond fans) get used to a bond and then cringe when they want to introduce another. I truly like Pierce as Bond and was dreading Craig.. now Im liking Craig and dreading the next.. I haven't seen Specter yet.. I know I will buy it so im just going to wait for the Blueray.

I was one of the first to see " Spectre". I have grown up with all the different actors that played Bond. With that being said-This was the only James Bond movie with I continually looked at my watch see when the train wreck of the movie was going to end. What a long drawn out convoluted movie.

The worst James Bond film ever.

I think "SkyFall" will turn out to be the definitive James Bond movie.

Saw Spectre - entertaining, and just OK. Didn't like it as much as Skyfall.

I HATED the theme song. It was a mess - Bond theme songs should never be sung by a guy, IMO. NONE of the Bond theme songs by males sounded good, even in the past.

DC Still the best Bond for me. He will be hard to replace. Compared to him, all other Bonds seem a bit silly and buffoonish to me, even SC.

Nothing against him, but that would NOT be staying true to the original character developed in the novels. Bond should stay the same as described in the novels, as to basic physical description, to be authentic on screen.
If the character wasn't based on a series of novels, that would have been just fine for Elba to play Bond.

Elba playing Bond would be like Brad Pitt playing the prince from Zumunda in "Coming to America"

I agree that the Bond theme songs have progressively become worse through the years. The "Skyfall Theme" works for the movie-barely-but does not stand on it's own outside of the movie.IMHO.

As an older person, I still love the "Goldfinger" song sung by Shirley Bassey. To me, THAT was and is the perfect Bond theme song.
