What are the pros and cons to running 5w-30 vs. 10w-30 full synthetic in a vehicle if temps are always between 25F and 85F?

Between 25F and 75F, there are no disadvantages to a 10W30 synthetic.
Advantages would be small in size, but still there, better volatility and shear resistance (temporary and permanent).

5W30 may offer a minuscule fuel economy increase

The only real disadvantage to using a 10w-30 over the 5w-30 would be the lower VI, resulting in poorer fuel economy. Not that I said real disadvantage, not a noticeable disadvantage. You'll never be able to measure the difference yourself. It'll be small in a lab and swallowed up in the noise in the real world.

For a 5300 mile summer road trip across US and Canada I used 10w-30 (MS5K) instead of the spec'd 5w-30 I normally use.
Hours of cruising at 75-85mph and the coldest start at ~60F.
