Dollar for dollar, a used Ranger is a pretty good low cost vehicle. Lot's of driving for your money. I've had several 2 wheel drive Ranger's here in West Michigan, drove them all winter. Put good snow tires on the back and they do well. Never got stuck but I will confess to throwing a shovel in the back a few times. I'm still mad at Ford for pulling the plug on them and the Crown Vic.
