Our counterparts

Thus consience doth make cowards of great pith and by opposing end thus the mind to sleep to sleep of death, the thousand natural shocks that make with and lose the slings and by opposing end the question: whether bear the pale cast of troubles, and lose the whips and arrows of love, the respect that make with and enterprises of time, the pale cast of the unworthy takes, when he himself might his quietus makes calamity of so long a life; for who would bear the law's delay, the proud man's sandpaper makers at the glue factory.

And some time make the time to drive out west
Into County Clare, along the Flaggy Shore,
In September or October, when the wind
And the light are working off each other
So that the ocean on one side is wild
With foam and glitter, and inland among stones
The surface of a slate-grey lake is lit
By the earthed lightning of a flock of swans,
Their feathers roughed and ruffling, white on white,
Their fully grown headstrong-looking heads
Tucked or cresting or busy underwater.
Useless to think you'll park and capture it
More thoroughly. You are neither here nor there,
A hurry through which known and strange things pass
As big soft buffetings come at the car sideways
And catch the heart off guard and blow it open.

I thought this thread was gonna be about some kind of oil forum on the other side of the internet. The thread title would've made sense then.

My bad Merkava 4,

I guess it was in my head that a counterpart was like a reciprocal. For a man there is woman......

For a penny there is a dollar....... 1/100. To 100/1.

A counter, am I not correct? You throw a punch to my head and I counter with a knee to the abdomen?

Anyway, I half meant it as a bizarro world and

The other half was to mean that we are lubricating things so what can we use to add friction to surfaces?

I still disagree about the penpoint vs pinpoint argument you made against my post from awhile ago.

I guess I am just picking and choosing when to agree with Merriam Webster.

I see what you did now. Your definition of "counterpart" is a little bit different from the usual use of the word. In the news media, we often hear the U.S. Secretary of Defense and his Russian counterpart the Russian Defense Minister. They're counterparts because they both have the same job but work for two different governments.

Counterpart of us.

Are you asking what the opposite of an oil expert is?

I'd say it is someone who abuses their car and makes it die a premature death.

There is very few oil experts here. It's mostly an echo chamber.
So the opposite of that would be a forum where the membership is established based on the education and experience in the lubrication field and people's posts would be first peer reviewed before making them open to public.

However, this forum does attract people that take much better care of their automobiles than the general public and it seems that we have quite a large number of mechanics and handymen. Therefore getting repair or maintenance advice on here is very prompt, factual and accurate.

So, despite this forum's name, the best advice one can get on here is not about oil.

Thanks, Bandito. This site could use more Seamus.
