Will the new CK-4, PC-11 and GF-6 North American standards better align those classifications with existing ACEA?

I don't think the PC-11 stuff will have much of a problem aligning itself. Generally, the current ACEA E sequences take CJ-4 as a baseline. The A1/B1 A5/B5 stuff is a little different in its relationship with the ILSAC ratings. I always wonder how much stuff for dexos1 was pulled out of ACEA A and B sequences, myself.

Yes, I wonder the same thing, but I'm not too sure what the exact Dexos standard is.
Does anybody have a link?

Not offering the following as really evidence of anything, but this leads me to think dexos 1 is still more aligned with API/ILSAC than ACEA.

Here's an Afton A3/B3/B4 package that they describe as being "proven technology"...i.e. probably a little older.

And another "all rounder" that gets a few of the OEM specs roped in as well.

And an SN package that can do all ILSAC grades, plus Dex 1 with no changes in treat rate.

Can sort of glean how they move through the ratings.

That last one seems to indicate that Dexos 1 requires lower volatility and better shear stability than the ILSAC grades.

So it looks like A1/B1 will be dropped from ACEA 2016 and C5 to be introduced to address low hths fuel efficiency endeavours.

That's interesting. Are they just going to dump 2014 as a non-starter, while they're at it?

It would seem pointless to introduce 2014 in 2016. The way they are going they may not even make 2016!
