Ranger/B2300 7.5 Differential ?

Swapped the diff cover on my 2300 yesterday; When I popped the cover there was sprocketed gear the same diameter as the ring gear, but it was not helical; it was VERY thin; almost like a bicycle sprocket about 1/2" away from the ring gear. No pictures as enough of my stuff already smells like diff lube

What is this for?

Its for the ABS. Youll probably find a sensor on the front of the diff somewhere.

Refilled with M1 75w90; seems like a lot of variation with the fill mount; I got in maybe 4.5 pints.

It had rusted through. He was rather upset about it.

yes the pickup sensor is on the top of the pumpkin. I need to swap my diff cover also. Mine is rotted into almost nothing.
