M1 EP Canada vs. US

Anybody else notice M1 EP is guaranteed to 20,000 km in Canada, but 25,000 km in the US?

Is the formulation different, or is the recommendation based on different driving conditions?

If it's based on driving conditions that's a 20% decrease in OCI. Much lower than the ~50% decrease in OCI Hyundai recommends for Canada vs. US, or some of the numbers being thrown out on BITOG when accounting for short trips or cold weather.

Possibly because of our more "harsh" climate, or they thought the number sounded better. You could email Imperial Oil and they might tell you. As you noted, there are some OEM OCI differences between the US and Canada.

I was thinking about the harsher climate too. Since most Canadian vehicles are classified as severe service.
