Are computers out yet with USB 3.1

Saw motherboards retail around the start of this past Summer that had 3.1 USB ports. OEM computer builders like Dell and HP get these parts earlier than retail, so I am sure there should be some for sale.

Just spent a LOT of time over the weekend helping my neighbor with a new laptop purchase. Didn't come across any we looked at with 3.1 USB ports. Just 2.0 and 3.0.

Being honest I hadn't even heard they came out with 3.1?

Asus should have something by now since they announced it months ago.

Only two so far: MacBook and Chromebook Pixel

Asus should have product coming along shortly, likely in their ZenBook line, but it's not available yet. Dell should have something soon too.

My latest desktop PC build has USB 3.1 (Type-C connector)

3.1 is theoretically twice as fast as 3.0. USB 3.1 is also the first real widespread integration of the Type-C connector (though Type-C is not directly tied to 3.1). USB 3.1, along with Type-C, gives the ability to integrate the new USB Power Delivery spec, which will provide power transfer of up to 100W, while still transmitting data. The Type-C connector is actually what is utilized to charge the MacBook and Chromebook Pixel.
