My BIL's 1998 Toyota Tundra with 90k miles.

It would "hang-up" and barely want to move in Drive, but it's fine in Reverse.

Same in Neutral... trying coasting down a hill, I would hear a gear clunk and it would slow way down to a stop.

Felt it was the Transfer Case fluid, so I drained out the original Toyota 75-90 Gear oil. It "looked" good and was light, almost like virgin oil.

I put in Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90.

Now it's completely gone!

Also, is it a Tacoma or Tundra?

Sorry, it's a Tacoma. V6.

I don't see anything on (my) thread that the Xfer Case locks up. Or I'm blind, lol.
