I had a Ford 3.8 blow a head gasket. Coolant was forced out into the overflow bottle and filled it to the point of overflowing. Run the engine cold w/o a cap and observe the coolant in the radiator for bubbles which is combustion gases(assuming there are no air pockets), which because of the pressures is the only thing that will push coolant out the bottle like that. You do not always have coolant in the oil depending where the gasket blew. I got a feeling a headgasket is calling it quits.
