Another newbie question here. Bear with me please.
What is the implication of increased, or higher than average wear metals?
Is it that the oil is not lubricating the engine properly? I realize that it is impossible to know for sure, but is (lack of) lubrication the most likely suspect?
Looking over the impressive collection of UOAs here, I see when people post more than one, that occasionally they have high wear metals, but then later UOAs show a normal amount. Is the (most likely) reason for this, that they have changed their oil and now the metal parts are getting properly lubricated?
