Switching brakes

Hi,

So 2 years ago I got new rotors and brakes. Brakes are: 309.13380 StopTech 309 Street Performance Brake Pads, http://buybrakes.com/309.13380-pv-642-8875575-stoptech-street-performance-brake-pads.aspx

The rotors are: 126.42097SL StopTech 126 Hi-Carbon Slotted Rotor

Is it a big deal to switch from these brakes to a ceramic brake? I've read both that I would need new rotors and also that I would not need new rotors.

If I do or don't need to replace rotors when i switch to ceramic, why?
