How To Quote An Old BITOG Post?

If I make a post reply and want to quote a post that I had started some time back, how do I copy and paste it to my thread? I want the member to just be able to click onto it so it brings them there directly.
I used to just copy and paste the URL but that does not work any more.

Copy and paste the text, then put [QU0TE] before it and [/QU0TE] after it. If you want to display the name of the person who originally posted it, put [QU0TE=name] before it.

(Note that I used the number 0 above so the code wouldn't be recognized. Use the letter O when actually making your post.)
