What type of grease do you gonna choose for bicycle hubs, AL complex or Ca sulfonate?

Al complex repel the water while calcium sulfonate absorb it.
Al complex is proven technology by many well-known bicycle mechanics. e.g. Seattle based company uses AL complex stalube grease

Cacium solfonate seems promising.

I have Ca Sulfonate based grease Total Ceran WR2

I can order small qunaity Bel-Ray waterproof grease

Thanks in advance

How about grease like boat trailer hub grease? Those have to be submerged in water, maybe even salt water.

Living in the PNW myself, if I absolutely want to waterproof my hub bearings I use Bel-Ray.

I used to be a bicycle mechanic (including working for Gregg's in Seattle) and the Bel-Ray is as good as the much more expensive Phil's Waterproof Grease in these applications.

A local supplier will have an aluminum complex grease available in the quantities you need. The aluminum complex base is more water resistant than the calcium sulfonate.

Is it only available at motorcycle/power sports dealers/shops (besides online)??

The wet wether begin here in the Netherland.
Ié just chaged the grease from mobil1 SHC220 to more waterproof.
As proposed from BikeWhisperer I have ordered Bel ray waterporrf grease. - It is AL/ barium complex grease.
It looks and smells similar to Phil wood grease.

Previous winter I shot one Simano deore HB-M530 fronthub with Mobil SHC220 - the grease was staing put in bearings but it was mixed with water - white / roze colour instead of red.

I will reports results after finishing the next winter season.

Thanks for input.

The base type is of course important but the rest of the grease is equally as important too. Even Lithium Complex greases can perform well in wet environments if formulated properly for that purpose. Calcium Sulphonate is ideal, I would expect the Total product to work well.
