Well, let's see. Vehicles are made with components that are supplied by the lowest bidder.

I'm not surprised at all... It's been that way for decades.

Lowest bidder that has to comply with a certain specification detailed in the RFP, right? This seems to be a design issue and not a parts issue. Sounds similar to the GM ignition switch problem or the Ford issue where the cars would not shut off.

At least they are recalling it, GM would never recall their stupid intermediate shaft design.
