Is this whats wrong with BMW?

I feel that way about a few brands. The reason I haven't bought a new car in almost 10 years is that they (BMW and Infiniti in particular) are gaining horsepower and MPG, but they are losing every other aspect of performance in the name of luxury and volume. These new cars are great, but they are not what I am looking for.

The problem is that the old cars are getting older and nothing lasts forever.

Honestly, it's really not that much money to completely restore a rust-free E36 or even E46 to as-new condition. That may be the direction we need to start heading.
