So I replaced the old Purolator Classic air filter in my car with a new one that I got on sale. Compared to the old filter, the new one seemed like it wasn't as well-constructed. The glue at the seams was applied in a messy manner and the pleat spacing wasn't that clean and even. Not-to-mention, the old one was from 2013 made in USA, while the new one was from China. Should have taken pictures but forgot to.

Haven't driven the car since the replacement so I'm considering just picking up a Fram filter. Never really had an issue with those.

Unfortunatley, yes, many air filters are Chinese, including the name brands like Wix, Purolator, Fram, hastings, and Mahle ::(

The good news is in many cases you can check on ebay for the country of origin.

If there's a P1 air filter available for your car, it will probably be US-made. Plus, the blue media looks awesome
