Im taking a trip to Detroit this weekend with a friend. We want to go see the "abandoned" part of the city.

This will be my first trip to Detroit. Any suggestions on places to go see? Also any good restaurants you guys would recommend? Thanks!

Xochimilco Restaurant 3409 Bagley Ave, Detroit, MI 48216, is also Mexican, and right across the river from Canada. Henry Ford Museum is great. Anthony Bourdain, did a good show on Detroit, worth seeing...

I wouldn't eat Mexican food there.

I feel sorry for people who eat Mexican food outside of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas and think it tastes ok.

haha Nick1994 we get the same Mexicans up here also! Most resurants here are locally owned and ran from Mexican immigrants.

If you know what to order you can get it very authentic! Tacos El Pastor

They taste the Same as the ones i would eat in El Salvador! I know that's not Mexico, but its close!

Forget the "abandoned" part of the city. Make your weekend count, visit Greenfield Village. Eat at Greektown or Mexicantown where Bluestream mentioned, bunch of good places to eat at both.

I agree 100%, I'm from Arizona and people in Michigan don't know Mexican food.

You never been to Taco Bell lol.

I took a tour of 'bad Detroit' a few years ago with a sales rep who worked for me..he is a native Detroiter and still lives there in a rougher part of town. It was really cool...but there is no way I would have driven through those areas myself.

Seeing the abandoned buildings and empty city blocks was unreal..the place is like no other. Awesome to see, just be careful.

Lol I know Mexicans are there making the food. I've been to Mexican food restaurants in Montana and Arkansas, Mexican people worked there and it was pretty bad food.

Artichoke in salsa? WTH?
