Hello BITOG Members:
Thank you all so much for participating in last week’s Q&A with Shanna Simmons. You guys are good and came through with some great questions! We hope our answers regarding engine protection have helped put several myths to rest.
We are now entering the second week of Q&A sessions, and we’re excited to get started working on your inquiries. This week, you’ll have the opportunity to submit inquiries to Mark Ferner, Project Manager, regarding valve train and timing chain wear as it pertains to motor oil/lubrication. Mark boasts 26 years of technical R&D and operational leadership experience supporting lubricants technology and fuels technology with his mechanical engineering degree from Florida International University. Mark is also an ASE certified mechanic but his current project is a 1970 Corvette Stingray (the engine, suspension and brakes are all refreshed and performance modified. Next up, power steering!)
Beginning with this post, a new thread has been opened for you to submit your questions. The thread will be open for question submissions from 9:00 a.m. ET Saturday, August 29th until 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, September 1st, at which time Mark and our full team of scientists and engineers will work together to provide answers to your questions to be posted on Friday, September 4th.
As mentioned before, we have a few notes to make sure the Q&A flows smoothly:
1. Please use this thread only to submit questions.
2. Please understand that there will be some questions that we will not be able to answer. We cannot divulge any proprietary information and can only speak from our areas of expertise.
3. Mark and team will also not be commenting or speculating on the products of our competitors.
With that, let Week #2 begin!
