We don't have any popup ads on BITOG. We fund the site with advertising, but make every attempt NOT to have annoying ads. I think popup ads lead to a negative experience, so we don't allow them.

Yup, BITOG has actually great ads, always on top as a banner. It isn't littered with junk all over the place. I've never had a pop up here before. Actually I can't remember the last time I even got a pop up?

Exactly. Even Windows and Internet Explorer have matured to the point that they're basically secure as long as you don't go looking for trouble AKA random porn sites

I get zero pop-ups here and virtually anywhere else. I use AdBlock Plus (the one with the STOP-sign-style logo) on Chrome and it has been very effective.
